- How much is a night?
From €65 a night, plus a €40 cleaning fee — compulsory, and charged once per stay whatever its length. So one night comes to €105, a week to €495. Tourist tax is added on top.
These figures are indicative: the actual rates, which vary with the dates, are shown on the Airbnb listing, kept up to date.
In July and August the house is let by the week, Saturday to Saturday; the rest of the year, from two nights.
- How many people does the cottage sleep?
- Four at most, in two separate bedrooms: one with a 140 cm double bed, and one with two 80 cm single beds. An additional cot can be provided on request for a baby.
- Is the cottage self-contained?
- Yes. La Maison de la Cloche is a completely self-contained house, set in large private, part-enclosed grounds. You share no walls, no garden and no access with anyone.
- Where exactly is the cottage?
- At the place known as La Cloche – Peumant, in the parish of Nanteuil-en-Vallée (16700), in the Charente, in the Argentor valley. The house stands above Moulin-Robin, with the viaduct for a horizon.
- How do I book?
- Through Airbnb, where the listing is kept up to date. If you have a question before booking, you can reach us by telephone or through the contact form on this site — we’re happy to answer.
- Can we come for just a few nights?
- In July and August the house is let by the week only, Saturday to Saturday. Outside that period, the minimum stay is two nights.
- Is the kitchen fully equipped?
- Yes: electric oven, microwave oven, four gas rings and a dishwasher. A washing machine and a clothes airer are in the utility room.
- Is the cottage suitable for young children?
- Yes. The grounds are part-enclosed and away from any traffic, there is a swing, and a cot can be provided on request.
- Can we use a barbecue?
Yes, there is a barbecue in the grounds for guests to use.
Do note that in summer, and because of repeated droughts, prefectural orders can prohibit its use. Do ask us about it.
- What can we do on foot from the house?
- The Argentor valley greenway, laid out along a former railway line, can be reached on foot from the cottage. Flat and free of traffic, it links Champagne-Mouton to Nanteuil-en-Vallée and suits walkers and cyclists alike.
